Location: Cora Headquarters
The moons were reflecting their bright luminescence when I was called by the bishop. “It’s past 10 in the evening what would the bishop want?” I said to myself. But, being a corite requires discipline and I have a duty to do what the bishop wills. So I took a quick grooming and closed the door of my quarters.
There were no one to be seen in Cora HQ, except for the ammunitions and weapons merchant which was now packing his things and retiring for the night. It was very quiet at HQ and for the first time I could hear the flow of the water in HQ. I walked down the isle towards where the Bishop’s room is located. As I reached the door, I saw four hooded people that were talking to each other. I heard some of them say “He might not be able to become one of us” the other said “If it is the will of DECEM he will become one of us”. I stepped forward which made a soft thud on the floor that the hooded people heard and they immediately looked at me.
“We have been waiting for you, Ryone” They all said in chorus.
“You were waiting for me?” I was startled in these words came out of my mouth automatically. “Yes, the bishop has called us to head your Endowment of Affects” said one who was now removing her hood. “My name is Leith Micasyer and I am a Darkpriest. The one on my right is Morgive Ethos, on his right is Yule Offstar and last but not least Kalyester Bourfol.” They nodded and greeted me as their names were called. “Anyways, we should be going inside now the Bishop has been waiting” She added, and we all went inside the Bishop quarters.
“Your Excellency, we are now here with Ryone Snapdragon as you have wished” Leith said with an elegant tone, as she took a bow and so did the others. “Your Excellency, I have returned your call what is that you wish for me to do?” I said as politely as I can. “Ah! Leith, Good to see you again! Morgive, Yule and Kalyester faring well I suppose. And of course Ryone, I have heard many things since the last time we have met!” The bishop seemed very happy today. She took something from her drawer and then she walked towards us. “I will personally sponsor your endowment Ryone so, do not be afraid.” She said to me again with a motherly voice. “Everyone ready? Well then, let us go” she said firmly.
It was dark and the only light that was leading us to our destination was the light of the moons. “I hope you all are not tired, since this is the only time when we can have the shrine to ourselves I have called upon all of you for this” the Bishop suddenly said. “I know it is sudden, but I think this is the best time for Ryone to have his Endowment of Affects”. I still don’t know what Endowment of Affects is... I would have asked but I guess I’ll just have to find out for myself.
We have reached the shrine without any delays. I guess it’s around 11 PM when we got there, and as my eyes was adapting to the faint light from the altar I felt a serene wind blowing. My vision has still not adapted to the light when I saw a figure in the wall, It was like a man but it isn’t. It had wings, and it wore some kind of armor with a horned helmet. It was a sight to behold, I would like to ask what the thing I was looking but the Bishop and the others were all now staring at me. “What is it that you see?” The bishop inquired. “Don’t you see it too Excellency?” I replied with a confused look. “Unfortunately Ryone, every corite see different things in that wall. If you ask me I can see an Isis on the wall, which brings us back to what you are seeing?” She uttered softly which was almost inaudible. “I can see a man with wings and an armor and a horned helmet”
Leith and her companions were a bit surprised to hear what I’ve said and the Bishop was a bit pleased. “Do you know Ryone what you are seeing? It is Paimon, The animus of strength only a few corites have seen this animus. And, all of these corites have contributed well to the society and have achieved the path to Immortality!”
